Travels by Brecken 12.31.23

Dear Brecken,

Happy 1st New Years Eve! I wanted to let you know that you're not even 4-months old yet, and you've already set a very high bar for infant traveling, exploration, and National Parks. 

In October, we took a family reunion out West where Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Mike, Aunt Daniela, (great) Aunt DeeDee joined us for a 3-state, 2 National Park Adventure. Here we are:

Yellowstone National Park 10.23

The week included Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and a bunch of animals and sightseeing. Antelopes in the cabin yard every morning and wild buffaloes 10-feet from the car were just a couple highlights from the week. (Side note: I may retire up there one day...or maybe have a retirement house)

I also want to tell you that you became an instant sensation as National Park sign infant baby. 

Then...we followed that trip up with a December trip to South Florida. This trek included Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park, and your first trip to South Beach (Miami). In short, you have visited 4 National Parks before you were 4 months old. 

I recognize that these are vacations won't ever be etched into your memories, but when you read this one day, I want you to recognize that one of the pillars we want to raise you on is the following:           

Go see the world. 

It's a big giant place out there with a million things to see and explore. So please create a 'Travel Bucket List' and go see as much as you can. Explore the peacefulness of mountains and nature when you can't hear a single vehicle and your cell phone doesn't have service. See buildings in other countries that were built a thousand years before the United States was even a country. Go see a country where they don't speak English or the plane ride is 10 hours over an ocean. Or sometimes just start your day on a whim and pick something new within 2 hours of your house.  Just, go see the world, and if you ever need a travel partner, me, your Mom(my), and brother and sister would LOVE to join you.
