YeeYa! Bubba!

 Dear Brecken,

One of our favorite things these days is listening to you fill up the evenings with your 18-month-old blabber and vocabulary. You know quite a few words right now, and you seem to be learning new ones every day! I think we can all agree that our favorite is when you go through the list of names of people you know:

Ma-ma!

Da-da!

Bub-ba! (Logan)

Yee-Ya! (Leah)

Be (Beast)

Bock! (Colby Jack)

Gamma (Grandma)

Pa! (Grandpa)

Some days you'll cite the entire list as if you're looking at a family portrait! But your favorite nouns are delightful as well...

Ball!

Nack! (referencing any number of snacks you love, including yogurt bites)

Cheeeese!

Clearly you like to eat! Eating 2 breakfasts...one at home...and then at School (Learning Zone, Berkshire) if we get you there by 8:15am.  Lately, mac-n-cheese, finger hats (raspberries) and dinosaur
squash bites top the list.

At 18-months, you're still breastfeeding, but even better, you invite your stuffed animals after you're done. 'Boo-bee' is your international Mommy snack code, and Mau and the snake never turn down the invite.

You don't walk much...you run everywhere. Full steam ahead, all the time. 

You love high-fives, followed by a fist-pump! You'll walk through an airport and sporting event and go out of your way to wave and give the entire row of people the entire routine. People love you! Your smile and interactions make them smile. One time, you high-fived an entire table of older people (80+)..they were so delighted.

You love the water, but your daredevil approach risks getting you drowned. With each beach trip, you're a little bit more excited to crash the waves. You're not exactly a fan of the pint of sunscreen your Mommy puts on you, but you quickly forget about it.

You love going over to Grandma and Grandpa's house on Tuesday and Thursday! And they love having
you!  You also love the video calls with Grandpa Paul and Grandma Billie--you and Grandpa Paul stick your tongue out at each other...it's your thing!

You're athletic! You can dribble and kick a soccer ball with both feet. You can throw baseball with both hands, but the scary part is how accurate you are with your throws. Recently you've taken to basketball, so somehow the house has 3 hoops.....including one in the tub.

So, yes, you're busy, young man. And your toddler energy is hard to keep up with sometimes! But as your Dad, my favorite part is how much you love your brother and sister! Your smile is so big when you see them, and Leah and Logan (Yee-ya and Bubba) bond with you in their own way. It's a lot of fun to watch, and the only sad part is how quickly you're growing up before our eyes.
